UNITED MARTIAL ARTS SUMMER CAMPS
DESCRIPTION
OF ACTIVITIES
UMA Summer Camps are fun, safe and educational. Not only do kids enjoy an action-packed
week of martial arts, games and movies, they also learn valuable skills such as:
Self-Defense * Conflict Resolution * Bully-Busting
Anti-Abduction *And much
more!
We hold camps during the months of June, July
and August, each with a theme that keeps the activities fresh and the kids begging for more. Some of the themes include:
JUNE 15-19 - JEDI CAMP:
We’ll learn light-saber techniques and engage in Jedi duels with padded swords! We’ll play games and learn martial
arts moves and self-defense. We’ll talk about conflict resolution, have free time, story time and watch Star Wars movies.
On Friday, we’ll also spend part of the day at Mill Street Park, weather permitting.
JULY 13-17 - NINJA CAMP: We’ll train in the art
of the ninja, learning everything from ninja weaponry (safe weapons of course) to tumbling and sneaking around undetected.
We’ll play games and learn martial arts moves and self-defense. We’ll talk about how to deal with bullies, have
free time, story time and watch awesome ninja movies (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” for example). On Friday,
we’ll spend part of the day at Mill Street Park, weather permitting. A pair of foam nunchakus are included with the
cost of the camp.
AUGUST
3-7 - GLADIATOR CAMP: We’ll train like gladiators, learning sword, shield and spear techniques using safe
foam weapons. We’ll play games, learn martial arts moves and self-defense. We’ll discuss anti-abduction, have
free time, story time and watch martial arts movies. On Friday, we’ll spend part of the day at Mill Street Park, weather
permitting.
Non-UMA members who participate in 2
or more camps and learn the martial arts moves and self-defense well, will receive 1 stripe on their white belt, giving them
a head start in our martial arts evening classes! Camp participants may attend our evening classes for free during camp week.
If you decide to enroll and become a UMA member, you’ll receive 10% off your tuition.
As you can see, we’re not baby-sitting. We’re entertaining and teaching. Your
child will walk away from these camps more educated, in better shape and excited about martial arts. Many of the benefits
of martial arts training include: better listening, better grades, concentration, coordination, respect and confidence.
We provide a safe, positive learning environment. Parents
are welcome to drop in at any time to watch or help out with the activities.
