Kids Martial Arts

Kids Judo throwKids Martial Arts is a general martial arts program that teaches basic self-defense, kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The goal is to develop techniques that children can immediately use to protect themselves.

A typical class consists of some combination of warm-ups, stretching, self-defense, kickboxing or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques, drills, mitt work, heavy bags and sparring.

We disguise repetition to keep kids from getting bored, give positive feedback when they are doing well and we usually play a game at the end of class to reward them when they try their best.

Furthermore, we teach valuable life-skills, such as conflict resolution, dealing with bullies and anti-abduction. We encourage kids to behave honorably and do well in school.

Safety is important. Students are required to wear protective gear when sparring. Sparring is limited for beginners and only light contact is permitted. Advanced students are expected to help out beginners. We take care of our training partners.
